Advanced temporal concepts
DD, in very thoughtful tone of voice ... 'When night-time turn into daytime, then i go creche?' How to say, 'can I go to playgroup tomorrow morning?' when you don't have a grasp of temporal terminology. Mr Wol gave me happy look full of a scientist's delight at observing development in progress. She'd thought hard about how to say what she wanted to say and got it all out in one measured, pretty clear really sentence. Hooray!
We take her to speech therapy group today, even though that little sentence shoves her so far off the parental assessment charts they gave us last week as to probably make it a total waste of time and, worse, a waste of a place another child needed. It has been over 12 months since she was seen by a therapist. Why couldn't they assess her again before it began? Now it is too late to offer the place elsewhere anyway so we may as well see what she can get out of it. Our health service be crap.
