It's a humungous amount of snow by Cork standards, but I've just had two weeks of this crap in Scotland. It can go away again as soon as it likes (which unfortunately, apparently isn't soon).
I'm not even going so far as to claim Scotland had "real snow": otherwise the Canadians, Austrians, etc, will start mocking me, too! The west of S. didn't so much get a lot of snow, as just stay cold enough to hang onto it for aaaages (now in the form of grubbily refrozen ice). Doubtless getting more now, though...
Hey! That is half an inch more than I have got to see on the ground since we went to finland in 2005. Snow is a novelty in this part of the world. I'd swap with you but I'm too old now for Canada to let me in anymore. poo!
