Am ashamed of how long it has been since my last post. This LJ is beginning to read like some sort of confession skit where I begin 'forgive me FList for I have had RL It has been X days since my last post. ...'
Have been busy enough actually to excuse my silence but have also been contending with feeling crap again. Sigh! I have had something wrong with my tum for bloody days now. However am less wrung out than I have been as BB has actually slept through the night for the last 3 nights. OMG but sleep is so important. It is so wearing when he goes through these extended periods of wakefulness. On one especially sucky day he had woken at 4.20 am full of sweet chat. GAH! It took nearly a full hour to get the little B back to sleep. This would have been hard enough to cope with but I had made a serious mistake before going to sleep and had clicked on this link
http://nielsenhayden.com/makinglight/archives/011095.html#011095 and was therefore screamingly awake until 2 am, just as if I had been doused in iced water. Seriously it is an article I would recommend to all parents who are not suffering from clinical depression or anxiety but it is an awful read and not something you want to end you day on loves, not at all!
It is possibly no wonder that I was tired enough the next day to miss my step and fall down the stairs. Miraculously I was not hurt, not even a bruise. Even more wonderfully my instincts were sound enough that the first thing I did was let go of BB's hand (I was helping him down the stairs - methinks blind leading the visually impaired in this case) and twistedly the next thing I did was to curl my body protectively around the Eee PC I was carrying. Who needs a spine anyway huh?
On less awful news we have had some fun gaming lately. My Judge Dee campaign is fun to run and so far we actually seem to be doing some roleplaying which is double fun. I have enough material stored up for probably another two weeks worth of gaming too so no panic to think of interesting things to do. We have been boardgaming twice a week too.
irishkate is a good influence on us. We are back to boardgaming sometimes twice a week. Woot! I scored hugely on the last 'Ticket to Ride' game we played (building the 21 point tunnel for anyone who cares). I blame BB's railway fixation for my sudden addiction to games with little pictures of trains on cards. Still at least it takes my mind off how nobody will play 'Mystery of the Abbey' with me any more, or even 'Apples to Apples'
