Baby Vocabulary

Well I don't think BB is going to share DD's late speech development. He isn't exactly precocious but he is certainly going to have a vocabulary much larger than 5 words by his second birthday. So far we have a mix of his own terminology and attempts at real words:

BB-speke
ssssss - anything to do with water, esp. the sea
DAAAAAAA (gutteral) - all avaians
RARRRRR! - big animals and monsters
two sharp barking sounds - dogs and most other animals, inc. teddy bears
mrroaah? - meow (encouraged top stop him pointing at cats and barking))
rrrrrrrrrrrr! - vehicle
nam nam - nom nom
UH UH + two knee bounces - yes please - he nods from the knees up, tres cute!
two knee bounces - welcome! hello!
tsuuu! - something important, not really sure what though.
ih-disss - that ... I think
ha-goooo! - no idea, possibly 'look at this cool thing!'

English as she is spoke
Oh No! - anything he does not want to happen, or play 'oops' moments but isn't actually up-set about
Oh-OH! - play disaster, broken thing
Go Go! - go go, also Weee! and Hurry up!
hont - 'honk'
Mama - guess ... although he rarely says it unless asked to. I'm just expected to know when I am summoned
Dada - Dada, although used rarely as Mama above
bye bye - all departures, inc. night night
dow - down
ann-tyo - thankyou (also used when giving you something)
uk - book
uh / epp - up
esssss - yes
eh-yo - hello, although uncommon, see Mama above
soooooz - shoes
dat - that
daaahhk! - duck

I think that's all so far but I may have missed one or two. Mr Wol had fun last week when he was home nursing sick me, teaching BB sign. We now have a cute one for 'hug' especially.

words, oscar
