The hormones do not help when it comes to dealing with stressful inputs right now so thanks to all those who replied to my last. Sane and reasoned voices are always good to hear. I still feel far too depressed by the whole horrible business to reply to comments or discuss the mess. NBC's nice little video exclusive has really turned my stomach.
Plus I seem to be able to channel six of the seven dwarves today (the exception being Doc as I never actually got that damned PhD). How I can manage to be so effortlessly grumpy and happy at one and the same moment is a mystery and one that I think Mr Wol and poor DD want to take up with the hormone police. I am fed up to the back teeth with Sneezy though, likewise Dopey.
So on to happier matters:
Baby boy has taken to his bouncer at last and sat there bouncing away and smirking! - you can't call it anything else - while we ate our dinner. Being able to eat dinner with both hands is nice!
There is a Book Festival in Cork this weekend with outdoor stuff going on that should serve as daughterly distraction for at least part of the weekend.
Last night's sleep was divided into two 3 hour stretches with an extra hour tacked on the end - it might not sound like much but that is Gooood!
Had lunch out with
mizkit and Ted yesterday which was fun and tasty and not interrupted by an increasingly less sleepy and biddable Baby Boy who dozed peacefully enough for most of it and was easily mollified the rest if the time - although shortly after parting I expect our friends, along with the rest of the planet, could hear his howls of outrage at waking up hungry in the buggy and not a tit in sight.
A friend sent me a copy of Enchanted Inc.: Hex in the City by Shanna Swendson (sic) which I devoured, maintaining that interesting blend of Happy and Grumpy. I thoroughly enjoyed it while being at the same time deeply irritated by the details of the setting and the lack of follow-through thought on the implications of some of her world building (similar to the irritation I get with Rowling really). The kissing frogs scene in central Park though was a delight from start to finish!
Belated New Year's Resolutions: I will do my pelvic floors and DD will do her speech therapy practice. Promise!
