After four (or is it five?) different drafts and three months of bitching I FINALLY nailed my opening chapter!
I got this sudden urge earlier to just open a new word doc and go crazy and I did! I looked back over it and it's awesome!
Okay, maybe not awesome since I know it's piled full of mistakes. Not to mention halfway through it, my right eye started getting really blurry (I think I need glasses) so I was writing with it closed and looking like a pirate. Then my stupid mouse started smoking crack and wouldn't click anywhere I wanted it to. I'm surprised I didn't break my hand banging the stupid thing against my desk while screaming, "Work, damn you, work!" Normally I would take this all as some crazy sign to just leave it alone, man, but I didn't! I charged through it and I'm so damn happy with the outcome I could tap dance!!
Or just go to bed which sounds even better since I'm still sporting the pirate look as I type this.
