While filming in Texas, Milla Jovovich (Michelle) and 'Shawn Andrews' (Kevin Pickford) eloped to Las Vegas and got married. However, Jovovich was only 16/17 at the time and her mother had the marriage annulled.
Can't Hardly Wait
Amanda's original name was going to be Wendy but the producers weren't able to find a song for Preston's 3rd sign. There is a song called "Wendy" but it's about a drug dealer.
Cry Baby
To find a young actor for the role of Wade "Cry-Baby" Walker, director John Waters bought $30 worth of teen magazines, all of which showed Johnny Depp of "21 Jump Street" (1987) on the cover. Depp thought the script was funny and strange, and took the offbeat role to avoid being typecast as a TV teen idol.
Four Brothers
The bathroom scene was shot over and over again for 2 days. This scene involved Mark Wahlberg resting his bare bottom on a cold toilet, Garrett Hedlund in a hot shower and Tyrese Gibson in nothing but a robe for 12 hours for each of those two days. At the end of each day, Mark Wahlberg had to be helped off the toilet because of the long duration on the toilet and Garrett Hedlund kept having his skin peel and prune due to being in the hot shower.
American History X
The diner that Danny and Derek get breakfast before Danny goes to school in the morning is the same diner that is used in The Big Lebowski (1998), during the infamous "toe" scene.
The Goonies
In the scene where rocks are falling from the cave ceiling, Jonathan Ke Quan (Data) screams "Holy S-H-I-T", spelling the expletive rather than saying it. He did this because his mother made him promise not to use any bad language in the movie.
The Breakfast Club
The joke that Bender tells but never finishes (while crawling through the ceiling) actually has no punchline. According to Judd Nelson, he ad-libbed the line. Originally, he was supposed to tell a joke that would end when he came back into the library and said, "Forgot my pencil", but no one could come up with a joke for that punchline.
Pratical Magic
According to Sandra Bullock in the commentary, in the scene where Gillian and Sally get drunk with their aunts and they sling insults, the actresses actually got drunk. They were drinking some very bad tequila that Nicole Kidman brought.
Dream a Little Dream
Four days before filming, Corey Haim broke his leg and Dinger's character had to be rewritten to include the injury. While his actual cast was removed during filming, he had to wear a fake one for the remainder of the production. In the movie Dinger says that his mother hit him with her car. In real life, Haim broke his leg while trying to teach his mom how to drive a motorbike. She couldn't use the breaks well yet and ran into the side of a building, breaking her nose and Corey's leg.
