Prologue-Say Yes

"I'm sorry" Sam whispered and Dean looked at him, a mix of emotions rushing through his eyes. Hurt, anger, fear, confusion, betrayal. But there was no time for any of that. The sharp whistling noise only got louder.

"Come on, Sam," he said, desperation in his voice as he grabbed Sam's arm. Sam stopped, though and stared at the crack that was opening, white light coming through.

"He's coming," he whispered." Dean looked at his brother, and saw the fear in Sam's eyes.

"Sam? Come on!" He HAD to get them out of there. Finally Sam snapped back into reality and turned towards the door. As they ran towards it, it slammed shut.

"No," Dean growled. "No!"

As Dean pounded on the door Sam turned and stared at the light.

"I can hear him, Dean." His voice shook when he spoke. Dean stopped pounding, and turned.

"What?" His own hands were covering his ears, the whistling was so loud.

"He's speaking to me..." Sam's voice was almost trance like.

"WHO'S speaking to you?"

Sam turned to look at Dean.

"Lucifer."

Dean stared at Sam, unable to say anything.

Suddenly a figure appeared, surrounded by white. They both turned and stared as Jessica emerged from the shadows.

"Sam." Her voice was soft.

Sam stared at her.

"Jess?" He dropped his voice to a whisper.

"Sammy, it's not her!" Desperation clawed it's way to Dean's throat again. "She's dead!"

"Don't listen to him, Sam. It's me. I've come back."

Dumbfounded Sam stared at her.

"How?"

"Lucifer...and I can stay...if you do something for him."

Sam stiffened at that.

"Do what?" He quickly became guarded. Dean was releived to see his brother's body finally tense. Finally realizing that this wasn't right.

"He want's you to say yes." Her voice was smooth, velvety.

Confusion flickered in his face.

"Yes? Yes to what?"

"To being his vessel."

Dean's own eyes widened and white went to his face. His throat was dry. Could Sammy really be Lucifer's vessel?...impossible.

"Impossible." Sam seemed to echo his very thoughts.

"Think about it Sam." Jessica walked closer and placed her hand on his skin. He stiffened but as she touched his face he relaxed. He couldn't help it,for so long he had dreamed of her touching him.

"It was you, it was always meant to be you. That's what the Yellow Eyed Demon was planning, getting the brightest not just to lead an army but to prepare to carry Lucifer across the planet. You set him free, Sam. It was always meant to be you."

Those words swung him back into reality, though.

He shook his head, and swallowed.

"You're lying."

Her eyes flashed a dangerous color.

"It's the truth,Sam."

"Don't listen to her," Dean growled. "Come on, Sammy, let's get the hell out of here."

The ghostly image of Jessica glared at him and placed her arm into the air throwing Dean against the wall.

"Dean!" Worry triggered Sam's voice.

"This can be easy, Sam, or hard." Her voice was colder now. "But one way or another, you well say yes."

Sam stared at her.

"You...you need my permission to enter me!"

She smiled.

"And they said you were the smart one. Yes, unfortunatily. Gotta love that red tape."

"I'll die before saying yes," Sam growled and her smile curled deeper.

"Careful what you say, Sammy. You won't die, but he still can. Can you live with losing your brother all over again?"

With that she turned towards Dean and before Dean could say anything she ran her hand into his stomach causing him to scream as Sam stood, helplessly watching.
