eBay

I'm very slow to update, but I finally found a reason to. I just need to tell you all about the wonders of eBay.

Our story begins about a month ago, when I was getting tired of my iPod being naked and exposed to the elements. Small scratches from regular wear and tear showed on the screen and steel back were showing. I decided it was time to protect my iPod. I looked online and was surprised at the cost of around $35.00 for a simple silicon case for it, and was not willing to spend that much. Then somehow it dawned on me - perhaps I could find the same product for a cheaper price on eBay? And so the search began... and soon enough I found two different cases that I liked, and bid on them. A light blue and a black one that I could change at anytime. By the time the auctions ended, I had won each for under $1.00, as opposed to the outrageous $35.00 the manufactuers wanted. I was thouroughly satisfied.

Some time passed, and I did not return to eBay. Recently though I began looking at clothing and the rather high prices on collared shirts or polos from certain designers like Ralph Lauren. I had bought a light blue Ralph Lauren Custom Fit Polo for $65.00 in NYC and wanted more, but did not want to spend that much. Again, it dawned on me. Perhaps, just perhaps, I could find them for cheaper on wonderful eBay! And that's just what I did. In the past week I've bought a black Ralph Lauren Custom Fit Polo for $35.00 including shipping & handling, rather than $65.00. I've also purchased a pair of Abercrombie & Fitch shorts for $26.00 (retail $50.00) and two LaCoste Polos for $47.35 together (retail $80.00 individually).

The first purchase, the black polo, arrived today. I was again thoroughly satisfied as it was still in the original Ralph Lauren packaging, including all tags and even the wonderful crinkly tissue paper that we all know and love from dress shirts in any store. The other three items should arrive this week, and I can't wait!

And that concludes my story on how wonderful eBay is.
