I feel like I'm finally settled and fully happy here. God has been so good; I have good friends here, as well as all those from home that still support me. I have a great community of believers that I'm connecting with, and a deep contentment even as the days swirl around me. But I'm a little apprehensive about an early morning interview tomorrow. I want to study abroad in London next year, and there are soooo many people applying, so the interview is a huge factor in deciding who gets to go. Sigh. But I'm trying to trust and be at peace. Even though my course schedule is pretty messed up.
Here's some of the random things that have gone on lately:
-Midnight madness with dance teams and cheerleaders.
-Noisy late night games of Ratscrew
-Sudden blind date with a Sigma Ep guy...it was okay
-Tri-Delta fashion show
-Lacrosse game
-Battle of the Sexes tomorrow (I'll update this later)
-Bible study in the chapel (I'll try to get pictures of this place; its beautiful)
-Late night pancake feeds in the dorm
I love these little times where community is fostered. I mean those events are the "highlights" as I call them, but even the little things of everyday leave me satisfied: catching the shuttle up the hill with the lacrosse team, a good discussion in great books, some crazy instances in Poli Sci, "open discussion" in Soc., weekly lunch dates, falling asleep in the library, calling my dad after watching "Heroes" to discuss the episode, doing laundry...even alone time is just another opportunity to reflect on God's goodness.
More to come later. If you want to know more about any of my bullet points, drop me a line. I just needed to get them out there. I also am satisfied with how I'm staying in touch with many people, through facebook, oddly enough. In case I haven't accosted you yet, I'm updating the class roster, so I'm messaging everyone about their e-mails. I see it as a great oppotunity to just be able to re-connect to everyone in their new lives. I eagerly await a Christimas reunion with you guys, but I fully intend to savor the time until then.
