Soooo I got a job!
Granted it's a project, not a whole "permanent" gig, but until June 30th it's 40 hours a week, which is parfait, since it will also allow me to set design for Wachusett Theatre Company again in July (which means another summer with ANYE, I HOPE HE'S STILL FABULOUS!!!).
It's a "production assistant" position with Boston University's Corporate Education Group. That basically means I'm editing/formatting textbook pages before they go to print for a 4th edition book for some Communications/Management courses. Not entirely exciting, but also not as bland as Hangover. SO, this is my current planzo for the next few months:
This thing doesn't pay THAT well, but let's hypothetically think lay this out:
Per week: ~ $450 after taxes
Per Month: ~ $1800
Total from BU: ~$6300
Then WTC: ~ $1500
Total for August 1: ~ $7800
Minus Car Insurance: ~$7440
Minus Student Loans - $5765
Minus Monthly Irresponsible Spending: $5000
Okay, so my reasonable goal for August 1st is to have $5k in the bank, in addition to what I have now. I CAN DO THIS. I need to. I need to get out of my house. With that sum of money, I can most most most definitely afford to go anywhere else, assuming I can land another jorb.
This is all assuming I don't win the HGTV Dream House. But, let's be realistic. I am going to win. In fact, I will be showered and good to go the morning of Sunday, March 15th, awaiting my ambush.
Is it sad that a lot of my wanting to move is based on the fact that I can adopt my own animals when I get my own place? I can finally be reunited with MERH MERH and adopt
Ringo, the dog I've been stalking since December of 2006. Aye, 'tis a sad, sad life I lead.
