About 2 months ago my Uncle David was cutting my hair at his salon and shoved a Readymade Magazine in my face and said, "Make this for me for Christmas" and showed me this:
But I kind of forgot about it until Monday, when I was shopping at Linens N Things and discovered that they were pretty much throwing away those EXACT HANGERS in bulk, so I looked questionable and bought about 30 of them and decided to take on this beast.
Unfortunately, the directions for that chandelier call for a lamp part quite literally ONLY found at Ikea, and I wasn't in the mood to go to Stoughton, so I looked even more questionable and traveled to Home Depot, pictures in hand, and had to ask a fellow, "excuse me kind sir, where could I find galvanized wire, 1/4" inch polyurethane tubing, and a plug that looks like this? Oh, what for, you ask? Why, a lamp made out of hangers."
Whatever. Point is, I got my goods and this is what I threw together (/labored over for 4 hours) last night:
It actually looks pretty sweet. I need to make it not tilt so much when hung up, but I guess that's what Thursdays are for when you're unemployed, right?
