Summary: From prompt Death. AWE--Davy's end
In one breathless moment, he saw it all-She, She who had loved him, who he thought had failed him; the task appointed to him that he had failed; the curse and punishment he had inevitably placed upon Her for his own failures. It was in that one moment that he found his redemption, begging Calypso for forgiveness before he plunged into the swirling waters below, feeling for the first time in centuries the dreadful pain and terror of mortality. In was in that one moment he realized that he, Davy Jones, of all creatures, did in fact, fear death.
