So it's tuesday lunchtime, and I'm back in work again. *sigh* And I won't give anyone prizes for guessing what work I'm doing...*bangs head on desk*
I had so much I wanted to say about the convention - none of it seems to want to come out when I have time-constraints, and I was too tired last night to do much more than talk to a friend. Not much of what happened is interesting, I imagine, but was musings in my own head anyway.
Like the fact that the last time I was at that particular hotel, which had a different name back then, I was eight months pregnant. And the convention after that, in Blackpool, I took Rowan with me. He was eleven months old at the time, and a combination of his age, the apalling weather, and the fact we were staying at a B&B down the road that time, meant I didn't get to have the whole convention experience that year either.
This year, I decided to go for it. There wasn't much to do - the guests were pretty much all 'seen them, heard the stories' people, though they're really nice, and there was nothing else laid on - no exclusive episodes, or replays of old classics. And the dealer's room was shite. So
kallanna and I spent most of the time hanging out with her friends, as I've already said. Really nice people.
And I've not eaten in McDonalds that often in ages *bleugh*
I was quietly impressed with how long I managed to stay at the convention discos - we both outlasted
kallanna's friends on the saturday night, and I called it a night at about 1am on the sunday. She wasn't far behind me.
The saturday night disco is always the best, as everyone's really happy to be there, and all the convention dance routines get done - I tried my best to follow as many as possible, though I frequently conceeded defeat. But I will get them, dammit! *bangs fist on table*
I also thought of a story which I may or may not adapt for my pup. If not, I may manage to make a little fanfic out of it, though I don't know how well it would then turn out.
Now, I really want to go to Wizard World - though I don't know when/if I'd make it over.
We were on the road from nine-thirty till about three, getting from the hotel to the airport, and then to Cardiff, and finally to our respective homes. I said hi to Dad when I got back (he's on a week off) and then crashed till Mam brought Rowan home at half four. He's changed, even over a weekend. I was quite surprised by that.
