Staff Preesh Day
Today was the most hallowed day at Membership. Lifeguard Appreciation Day. In other words, the day when our loving members bring in all kinds of food to show us they adore us. And adore us they did. I overate. Then overate some more. Four hours after leaving work I hiked over to the barn for Staff Awards Night. In other words, Chinese food, a tee-shirt, and some laughs. Would you like to know what awards I got?
1. Most likely to put out for the gate guards award.
2. Most likely to rat out her friends award.
The second relates to Jon's award, I guess. Or maybe I'm just that overtly mean. The first was an Ian-fabricated lie. Or was it...
After this I rushed over to Tim's to watch the Real World. Man I love reality television. After witnessing some action-packed drama there, we went to 7-Eleven. Finally, we decided it would be nice to say goodbye to Nick. As we pulled into the driveway we were surprised to see all of his pals sitting in the front yard having a pow-wow of sorts. We considered backing out but I realized that some of the people in attendance might recognize my car and laugh at me later. Tim opened the window and shouted "Bye, Nick!" and we tried to escape, but they all caught us. Alas. Greg, mind you, was hiding in the back seat. Nick told me, as he told Laura, that I must hold thye band down and kick the shit out of anybody who screws around. I shall do my best.
But what's band without a tuba?
As the college kids trickle away, I'm realizing how precariously we're placed right now. Think about it...none of us know where we'll be heading a year from today. Isn't that mind-boggling?
A long entry, I know, but I must add one more thing:
I'd like to say a big hello to ANDREA AND CHRISTINE who have been asking for an entry devoted to them. When the summer is truly over maybe I'll put together some sort of haiku for you guys, but until then, I hope this "shoutout" suffices.
