I am speechless. I can't imagine listening to the entire Ring Cycle in one day: one needs time to _process_ such an experience; especially as a musicologist it would be vvvv. mentally draining to listen to the entire 15 hours from start to finish. I can't believe the Radio 3 station controller says that 'Without doubt' people will actually sit down and listen to it in one go. My question would be, are they *really* listening, or playing Wagner as background music for while they faff around with the washing up?! Outrageous. Seems to be a lot of commercializing and commodification if you ask me!!!!

I think I could live quite happily in the Cotswolds in Oxfordshire for the rest of my life. :)
