Finally some photos...
Finally have been able to connect our laptop at some hotel we are staying at. These were taken a few weeks ago, waiting for the train to Chang Mai at the Bangkok railway station.
We are currently in Nanjing, a city north of Shanghai. We are finding Nanjing really difficult.. we just got back from the train station ... it was an experience! nobody speaks any english and no signs are in english, its a nightmare! (though what did we really expect by coming to China? haha). We finally found someone who could speak english and they helped us try get tickets, we would have had to spend 17 hours on the slow train on a hard seat to Beijing... we decided against it, so we are now heading back to Shanghai tomorrow and hopefully be able to catch an express train from there.
We arrived in Nanjing last night by bus. We had the address for an international youth hostel ... we got a taxi who dropped us off at the right street but we could not find this hostel, we walked up and down the street for ages (with our bloody heavy backpacks on), we are tried asking for directions but that was no use.. so we booked into an expensive hotel and thought we would find the hostel in the morning... after we booked in we went for another walk to try find it.. still no luck... then this morning we continue looking. After another hour of searching we finally worked out that the hostel was were a demolition site is... the hostel no longer exists! arhhh!
