Honestly, I'm NOT happy about this. You'd think I would be, but I'm not.
I mean, Kum's not going to happen. They'll likely shove him with Mercedes again. And that bitch does not deserve him at this point. She tossed Sam's ass aside the next day and got a new boyfriend and didn't bother looking back. She didn't deserve Sam before, she doesn't deserve him now. And I don't want to watch that. Them together. I liked being able to believe that Sam and Kurt would meet each other in New York and finally be together. Him coming back means the final nail in the "Sam is gay" coffin is inevitable.
And another reason is because of all this dumbass haters. Acting like Chord came running back with his tail between his legs because he couldn't get anything else. Which is bullshit. He's record his album and did a guest appearance on "The Middle" in those four months. Acting like he screwed RIB over. Using their same bullshit, "Chord didn't earn it like Harry or Darren!" arguments. I was done with those arguments and now I find my self arguing with the same ignorant assholes about the same things I did four months ago.
I was over Glee. I watched but I didn't care. Now Sam is back and so is the possibility of Kum and I know it'll lead to disappointment.
I get where you are coming from, honestly, however I like to remain hopeful. There are plenty of gay men who only truly accept themselves - much less come out to others until - later in life. It is possible Sam is one of those. Despite being attracted to Kurt (lips licking?) and protective of him, he is in denial of his true sexuality, prompting him to date girl after girl after girl. Who was his last attempt? Kurt's best friend! He just, doesn't see them as bears, because he doesn't accept himself fully yet. Or so says my newest headcanon. So... no matter how many heterosexual hook-ups Sam might have by coming back on the show, it doesn't mean he can't wake up one morning after graduation and fully realize he is attracted to Kurt.
Of course, this is conjecture, but I'll take this over not being able to see Chord on a regular basis. The Middle was great, but it was seemingly a one-time deal... And you know, RIB might actually surprise us. I choose to remain hopeful for now.
That being said, I agree that any and all Chord hate going around right now (and discussions of ''earning'' a contract) are complete and utter bullshit.
