Santa vs Jesus debate

Dec 12, 2006 06:58

I am sooooo very sick of this debate. Is it ok to let your kids believe in Santa.

I don't care what my sister in law says, the fact that my kids don't now, becuase she took it upon herself to tell them grrrrr not happy!!!!

But anyway, I think it's fun, my boys know Christmas is about Jesus, we sing happy birthday to him every Christmas day, we bake a cake, the kids help me make it, they remind for weeks leading up to Christmas about it.

They know all about it, they understand it, but believe it or not my kids have an imagination, I let them watch spongebob, we go to the beach they start looking for spongebob and patrick and the little mermaid, what does that mean i'm not to let them watch that too? Sheesh,

It is just a fictional being, well no he isn't, he is a historical being, but does it matter that the kids think that Santa posts me the presents all the way from Finland because the population is just too big to get to every house, so instead he posts them and I put them under the tree (hahaha suck on that one Paula!!!, I got around her telling my kids).

Yes yes I know I'm lying to my kids when I mention the tooth fairy, and santa and the easter bunny, but my parents lied to me and I only have a slight twitch now lol just joking. I got over it, I didn't care, as long as the presents kept coming.

Becuase ultimately for a kid, it's not about Jesus or Santa about the presents under the tree they don't give a damn about anything else.

Ok I've now had my rant.

I'm off to take a valium or two or three. :D

santa, jesus
