Have to take the bottom half of the wall (wainscoat, panel, sheet rock) out of the basement. Mold. Mildew. May have to take more depending on where the water is coming from. LA was extremely helpful.

If it's any consolation, I'd like to confirm that those color choices for paint really are spectacularly beautiful! And they will be again. :)

I figure it's time to rethink the whole basement concept - a blank slate for a new vision.

With the walls bare, I'll be able to make sure that the water issues were sewer related (and wicking along the cracks/borders on the floor) versus some type of foundation or wall issue. I don't think it's the gutters.

Oh man, I'm sorry for the damage, but I think it's awesome that you're able to repair it with the help of some friends. I really enjoy your project photos.

Thanks. While the ups are exhilirating and the downs are devastating, I remember that all things are ephemeral.

Project blogs are fun! I love technology (internet, digital photography) that allows us to communicate across the globe.

Actually, I think I was getting too morose for LA so she suggested getting out the camera and blogging as therapy. :)
