garden joys!
I haven't been out in the garden in 2 weeks and it is in sad disrepair. This morning I needed some rosemary for the pot roast (I finally feel like cooking a bit) and discovered cauliflower!! Cabbages the size of a softball! Carrots! I picked the ripe tomatoes. My runaway cantelope has not survived. At least I got to enjoy the squash blossoms shining out from the greenery for a month or two. The broccoli has bolted. I have corn and rye growing out of the bird feeding patio. I set some seed 3-4 weeks ago for fall greens but there is no sign of them. It may have been too dry in the garden but perhaps they will germinate since we had the rainfall last week. My cold pile compost box has fallen apart. I don't have the strength to dig out the pile and repair the box yet.
