I'm worried Mary is going to beat me up when I tell her that a) I just saw St Trinians and b) I quite liked it. Honest! It really wasn't half as offensive as I thought it was going to be. It was even very funny in places. There were elements that made me raise my eyebrows, but there are elements like that in pretty much everything. I was pleasantly surprised. And it had good music too.
ETA - I want to point out that I have seen nothing of the other, earlier St Trinians films, nor have I done any research on this one, I'm just going on my gut reaction that, while it's certainly not a pioneering feminist film, it was nowhere near as sexist as I expected it to be. I'd be intrigued to hear any view points on this though, if anyone else has seen it.
