This would take far too long to put in properly formed sentences, therefore here we have a brief description of my week:
Wednesday
- Met
mackenziegrace and her friend off the Stansted Express. Went to (finally!) see PotC: At World's End at the new O2 arena/dome/centre/whatever they are calling it. New dome = very nice. New Pirates = very eh?
Thursday
- Got up early and go and finally meet
verity_vulpes, who had flown over from Finland and was staying with
medland. Commence walking all over the place, meet
londonbeauty001 and
themightypeet for lunch, spending hours in Lush, HMV and Forbidden Planet respectively, introducing Ben and Jerry's to Mirella (they got on very well) and apologising oh-so-much to Mirri about the stupid company that hadn't sent our Hogwarts ties on time. *cries*
Friday
- Harry Potter day!! OMG!! Go to Camden for the afternoon. Myself and Mary were hidiously late because as we got to the tube station on the way out it started raining waterfalls. Transport for London did the same thing they always do when situations like this arise: panic, run around like headless chickens and collapse inwardly. Due to 'flooding' (of which we saw none), one hours journey actually took 2 and a half hours.
But who cares because Harry Potter! Met
red_scully and two of her friends for dinner, whose LJ names I don't know but want to find out. She and Margi's husband-to-be looked bemused whilst we all got more and more hyper (and in some cases drunk). Finally made our way to Charing Cross Road Borders, where we met with some
hogwarts_elite Ravenclaws. We persauded half the queue to join I think, though I have to say I was a very lonely Hufflepuff. It was all very canoningly wrong; we're supposed to travel in packs, PACKS I TELL YOU. It's possible we were the most excited there; and also possible that myself, Mary, Mirri and Margi are in the background of national television singing Potter Puppet Pal's "Snape, Snape, Severus Snape (Dumbledore!). I was so excited my stomach was cramping and I probably made a huge fool of myself. I feel I should care about this more than I actually do.
Got hold of the books just after midnight and managed to stop ourselves from reading until we reached the bus stop. Whilst on the bus met a guy wearing a 'Bother!' t-shirt who had queued for 33 hours(!) at the huge Waterstones. Obviously he is destined to be with Mirri or Mary, or both. If you are out there, Bother! guy from the 24 (k)night bus, you are much longed for. Squeezed into Margi's room and read till we one by one konked out.
Saturday
Read until about 4, when we finally decided we were hungry enough to visit the spoilery world outside. Myself, Mirri and Mary headed into town in the hope of getting Phantom tickets, but they were all either sold out or ridiculously expensive, so instead we walked the streets of London and ate Ben and Jerry's. Myself and Mary came home and I finished Deathly Hallows at about 1:45am. Too tired to think, mourn or appriciate properly, I fell asleep exhausted. I might do a post about my thoughts or I might leave it till after my second read through, haven't decided yet.
Sunday
Went to see Order of the Phoenix again. Still like it. Then we dropped Mirri off to go catch her plane, which was very sad. :( Myself and Mary mourned and took a riverboat up to Tower Bridge. More Ben and Jerry's was eaten, which might have been a mistake right before we went on a Jack the Ripper tour. Said tour had some amazingly interesting stuff about the history of London, but was also pretty gross. The tour guide was also, erm, odd, but you know, think about what he does for a living...
Monday
Took midwife-in-training Mary to see the Birth Centre where Suzie works. Went on to take her to her very first experience of IKEA. She liked. IKEA is love. Then dropped her off at Stansted and drove home by myself, feeling very sad and lonely. :(
Today
Miserably contemplated the fact that I don't have enough money to get me to Edinburgh in a couple of weeks, let alone Vancouver in January. Back to the real world and the real world sucks. Rocked in the corner singing softly to myself "Voldemort, Voldemort, Voldy Voldy Voldy Voldy Voldemort" The end.
P.S - No, I don't know what the hell happened to the tenses in this post either.
