Here in the UK, there is a site called 'Preloved' in which people sell on their no-longer needed or wanted objects. This includes hamsters. And I know, I KNOW, I shouldn't look, but I always do and I get so, so, so mad. Some examples, because I need to rant:
We are selling my daughters 2 Russian Dwarf hamsters, they were only bought about 2 months ago from new and are grey in colour. They are very friendly but need an owner who will pick them up daily. We are looking to sell as we are the ones doing all the handling and cleaning. They are for sale with all their kit, hutch and food bowls were all bought from new.
Yes, of course teach your daughter that it's perfectly okay to get bored and abandon her duty to a living creature. Then teach her it's fine to just get rid when you can't be bothered anymore. Why don't you MAKE your child look after them, or, I don't know, spend time with her teaching her how much fun and enjoyment can be got from pets. Or alternatively, bring her up thinking that living animals are just a commodity to be disposed of at will. You know, whichever. There are hundreds of ads like this. HUNDREDS.
Anyone in Shropshire have a male hamster they want to breed. I want to breed my female golden serian hamster. Looking for a tri coloured or pearl serian, perhaps something a little different than the average standard golden hamster.
Generally, if you want to breed hamsters, it might be advisable to do your research. Starting with, I don't know, LEARNING TO SPELL SYRIAN?! Breeding healthy hamsters is complicated - genetics means that if you breed certain colours together they will produced deformed pups unable to survive. As you claim you have a Golden hamster and yet the picture you show is a Cinnamon, I'm guessing you have no idea about any of this. And that's without going into the implications of breeding a hamster you have no background on: it could have any number of health defects in its line just waiting to pass on to the next generation. Hamsters aren't toys. Breeding isn't a game. You are a fucking idiot.
1cream short haired and 1white long haired, both syrian hamsters, cage includes wheel, house, food bowl, tubes, water bottle, food and bedding. the hamsters are only 12wks old, only had them 6wks, bought as a present for our daughter but shes not interested in them as she prefers reptiles, both hamsters are sisters and very friendly.
SYRIANS CAN'T LIVE TOGETHER. EVER. THEY WOULD FIGHT TO THE DEATH IN THE WILD AND EVEN MORE SO IN CAPTIVITY. I can't even with the stupidity of this.
3 baby winter white hamsters, 4 weeks old, unsexed as they are too young, Mum and Dad can be seen, available to a loving home when 6 weeks old.
No they're not. Winter Whites NEED to be sexed and separated by gender at 4 weeks, else they will start breeding with each other/mum. Which can cause all sorts of inbreeding issues, aside from potentially several litters of unwanted pups. AGAIN, do your research before you start MESSING AROUND WITH LIFE.
for sale I have 5 robo hamsters, 3 are white faced (very rare) and 2 are normal. They are all very tamed. Both the normal robo's are £15 and the three white faces are three for £25 or £10...
They aren't rare. They aren't quite as common as the normal coloured, but you can certainly get them easily enough. You're either a moron or ripping people off, or both.
And finally...
Two male russian dwarf hamsters for sale. They are around 13 weeks old, one is grey and white the other is white and brown. They currently live in the same cage together and I've never had any problems with them fighting or anything. I am willing to sell them apart if needs be, but I do only have one start up kit so first person to buy would get the kit if needed. They will come with a starter kit cage which can be expanded if you wanted to buy extentions for it from pets at home. They are lovely boys, one does nibble you when scared but that's common for russian dwarfs. Reason I'm selling is because I want a syrian hamster and I can't have both. Need anymore information then give us a text/email and ill aim to get straight back to you, it is pick up only tho sorry guys I don't drive!
I can't...I just...how can you not understand the wrongness of getting rid of one pet just because you're bored and want a different type?! How can anybody EVER think that is okay? I thank my lucky stars that my parents brought me up to respect living creatures as well as they did. If Joey, Harry or any future children of my own ever behaved like this, I would be ashamed.
