It's in my soul, it's what I need

Livejournal, hello! I have had a lovely few days, allow me to elaborate. But first, let me wish a very Happy Birthday to my dearest london_fan. Hope you had a great day Meike!

Reunion was luverly, lots of drink was drunk, dances were danced and fun was, erm, had. Although I will never again think of the Final Five without picturing Rehka Sharma on her knees on the dance floor, doing air guitar at one o'clock in the morning. And she still looked amazing the next day. I'd make bitchy comments about this but she was so sweet, funny and much prettier in real life than on tv, that I'll let her off.

Other highlights included standing on a chair surfing to the wrong song (makes sense if you con-dance. If you don't con-dance, you need to learn. Immediatly.), gaining a brilliant lead in Nomination Whist only to lose dramatically towards the end, winning the movie song quiz and buying Fatbaby! earrings.

In fact, I loved it so much that I've just begged my way into having the weekend after X-Con off work so I can attend 'The Hub' at Birmingham NEC. Which is slightly foolish as I really, really can't afford it, but people! James Marsters!!! And John Barrowman!!!! Together!!!!! I can't not go. Who wants to comes with? I promise you a serious amount of fangirly and other types of fun. Please?

So clearly, the best way to deal with the weekend hangover was to drive a 5-hour round trip to see my mum, sister and nephew in Wales. Which in the end was really worth doing as I sat on a really quiet beach, watching Harry pick up pebbles (Mummy! Stones! Pretty! Bucket!), gazing out to sea with the sun on my face and had one of those moments when you realise that yeah, actually, this is what life is all about.

I'm back to reality now with a 9 day long stretch at work. Boo hiss boo. However, all is well because after the 8 remaining days, I am on holiday for nearly a month! A month!! With extra exciting European adventures included!!! And yet another sci-fi con!!!! OMFG, sometimes, my life is awesome.

family sometimes does end with blood, embracing my geekdom, work, harry
