surprise!
am writing this from Charles DuGaulle Airport as i wait for my connection home. prettiest airport i've ever been in~~~ so much glass and wood. (or is this because my last frame of reference was the grotty old Cairo Terminal 2? (actually, we flew out of Cairo's Terminal 1 which, despite being called the 'old airport' is way newer than Terminal 2)). either way, CDG = *_*
thus far, i have survived:
1) cairo - camels, desert, sleeper train
2) aswan - bazaar, searching for a post office, ridiculously burning hot sunshine, felucca (sailboat), a nubian dinner, cuddling a baby crocodile
3) between aswan and luxur - many temples and visits to government sanctioned factories/etc to sell us things
4) luxor - temples, eating at an "asian food" restaurant, eating koshary, donkeys
5) cairo again - getting cabs on our own and negotiating price.
