sometimes i put great thought into the progression of songs that i burn onto a cd... or the progression of cds that place in the 6-disc changer i have in my car... sometimes i think about the flow of the music and the mood and how i want it to rise and fall and where i want my music to take me.
other times i just decide to slap 150 of my favourite mp3s of the MOMENT onto a cd-r and shove it into the player... and hit the "random" button.
recently i've become completely and overly obsessed with DBSK (not a surprise... ^_~)... and for some strange reason, even though i used to always profess not to like their music... i do own all of their korean CDs. i mean that i bought them when they came out... from 2004 onwards. whhhhy? no idea. did i even know who they were back then? or was i just completely suckered in by jaejoong's pretty face (repeatedly)? (because let me tell you, i bought each of those cds and then promptly forgot that i owned them until this past october when i almost bought "O" again but then realized that the cover looked remarkably familiar).
anyway. yesterday i had a sudden desire to put all the dbsk cds into my car and listen to them in chronological order. it's super cute and it makes you picture the boys as they're growing up. but do y'all know where the funniest transition is?
the transition from their 3rd album, "O", to their 4th album, "Mirotic". why is this, you ask?
the last song on "O" is DBSK's cover of an old pop song, "Balloons". the concept/image for the song is ... well, it's like this:
the first song on "Mirotic" has a music video with this kind of feeling:
sorry, you'll have to ignore the ninja back dancers, but the feeling is there, right?)
ah haha... i think my brain broke a bit when it came up with those two images next to each other. ^O^;;;
(images credited as tagged... but i don't know where the Balloons one came from. ^O^;;;)
just for fun:
