Just about everyone in my family is crazy about the Wii. One of my uncle's goes crazy if he doesn't get his fix. Even my aunt, who usually doesn't get excited was jumping up and down when she got SPARES. The next day after playing it for the first time she immediately called just about every store in the area trying to find out if they had one or would be getting one soon. It's nuts.
So today, Christmas dinner, we're showing it to the rest of the family and folks are really into it. I should have known bad things were ahead when a family member misinterpreted the bowling instruction that tells you to hold the remote upright in the ready position and instead thought it was trying to show her "do not drink while playing this game." The night ended with an aunt and uncle REALLY drunk and trying to bowl. It was kinda of pathetic and kind of hilarious. For example, this uncle tried to take advantage of a little homophobia and was trying to slap my cousin's fiance's ass every time he went up to bowl. And there was the incident where he couldn't make his spare and everyone told him he sucked, and so he says something like "oh yeah I'll show you" and starts unzipping his pants, and we immediately all scream "NO NO NO NO! you're awesome!" and he stops.
Those are just some of the more "memorable" moments.
Just a typical holiday.
