Didn't mean to be rude. . .it's just frustrating when you spend a lot of time trying to make something look good, only to have people steal it from you.
Here's how to credit someone. When you upload an icon, there's a space for a keyword, and for a comment. If you know the username of the person who made the icon (and you should always try to find that out), put something like this. Your icon's from Chicago? Put 'chicago: made by *insert username here*' If you don't know the username, put 'chicago: made by ???' or something like that. That way, if someone notices that you're using their icon, they know that you're willing to give them credit, and they can just leave a comment somewhere saying "hey, that's my icon, and I know you didn't know who made it, so now you know". Something like that.
For example, when you get this comment, hover over my user icon with your mouse for a minute. It'll say the name of the icon and who made it. (In this case, I don't know who made it.)
