I hardly ever update now, i guess that's facebook influence :/
So what have i been up to since my last update?
Well I went back to work a few days after the hanging. I did nights for three shifts. I must admit it was quite scary. the first night I went into the clinic room on my own opposite the bedroom where it happened. Well actually I didn't make it that far,,,,there was no one in the corridor and i got scared had had to come back into the office (admittedly in tears) but after that I pushed myself and actually went into the room on a couple of occasions. Everyone was really supportive, even a patient that was around that morning when it happen (i think he must have been in the corridor when I pulled the alarm as saw me running back to get the emergency bag) asked how I was doing? I thought that was quite sweet.
After my nights i went to Croatia for eight days and had an amazing time, It was so pretty, so hot, we went swimming in the clearest/bluest water...it was prefect :) I loved Sean very much in that holiday...we're still going strong...we're just very alike at times...which gets interesting ;)
Then after that I went back to work which is still a little difficult but I don't think my practice has been impaired...I just get quite jumpy when there are new admissions who have suicidal ideation...especially middle aged women. My boss has been great. I'm seeing a suicide prevention specialist just to double check that I'm okay and rule out any need for counselling. I think i'm fine now...just jumpy. however, I'm not looking forward to going to court and replaying the events of that morning to the courtroom and the family :(
In other news, it was my mum's 60th yesterday, she also retired on wednesday as a post lady. I'm happy to say that her work did her proud, they had a buffet and cake, had a £250 collection and brought her some flowers. She has millions of cards...it was quite a nice surprise to realise that people thought so much of her :)
yesterday we took her out for a meal, it was a little bit tense. I think my younger brother's girlfriend felt bad regarding money issues. She felt bad that my older brother brought my mum pearls and they brought her a bottle of wine. I tried to reassure her that its not about that. Max and Sherlie brought that present because they wanted to and could afford it. We're taking mum to a nice hotel in cornwall for the weekend, and I told Petronella that the best present that mum would appreciate the most is everyone having a good time and making nice memories...I'm not sure how much of this she'll take on board mind! At the end of the day I could have been a bit firm with her and my younger brother my saying that they should have budgeted for things (they are staying at Sean's as I just cant afford to pay for their room as well) but whats the point in that....whats done is done.
So this weekend Sean will meet my mum, only a very few select people get to might her. My time frame with boyfriends is normally one to two years. I think Mike met her after two. Its always been a big deal.
I also got mum a face cake. it has a photo of her when she was a toddler and I decorated it with icing flowers and a made a funny looking cat...which should get a laugh when it comes out. i'll post a photo at some point.
Aso I did my first night drive to Cornwall the other night...there're quite scary arnt they? i'm now living part time in cornwall (thanks to my boss) its great. I'm having Sarah down to stay soon which will be awesome :) hehe...i've joined the elite and have a second home in cornwall Darling :)
