Oh, show. I love you. And also not.
Things that were awesome:
- "Miracle!"
- "I love Springsteen, he's like the American Bryan Adams!"
- Slo-mo run to the hospital, Robin with her make-up bib, Marshall with his guitar hero controller, Lily looking like Mrs. Claus (wtf on that?). Ted, eating jello, all perfect.
- Barney in Ted's montage of people he loves (and not his parents? Okay, guys)
- Barney hanging up on Lily, then running out on the Koreans (also their English, "What did he say?")
- Robin's dog/turtle.
- TED TEARING UP. DITTO WITH BARNEY AND MARSHALL. Plus the hug, and the absolutely perfect, "I'm your best brother, right Ted?"
Things that were not awesome:
- Stella.
- Ted proposing to Stella.
- The idea that Stella might be the mother.
- WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED TO THAT GODDAMN UMBRELLA?
Okay, I love Sarah Chalke. Seriously? I like her better than Becky #1 on Roseanne, actually, except I see her mainly as Elliot anyway. I love her on Scrubs, I think she's great on there and everything. But her character seems to be written strangely on this show or something. I don't get it, but I don't really feel a connection to her. Victoria? Cutie, totally dug her as a girlfriend. Stella? Cutie, but besides the fact that she's a doctor and has a kid, I don't really know much else about her. COME ON, CARTER AND CRAIG.
Okay, here's what's going to happen, Mother-wise. Ted and Stella start getting ready for a wedding (and, um, three months in, Ted, really?) and Ted brings his yellow umbrella one day, and Stella's bridesmaid is all like, "Um, your fiance totally stole my umbrella! I left it at that stupid St. Patrick's Day party and he totes stole it!" And unnamed girl and Ted are gonna fight a lot, and then totally make out one day and that's the mother.
And you can only write that fanfic if you credit me a bunch, 'cause that's awesome.
Wanna know my Office proposal too?
Jim goes to pick up Pam after three months, or she comes home or whatever. I just see her running to him and hugging him (a la The Merger) and he totally can't take it and he proposes to her right there. Because we better see that proposal, BY GOD.
