Hahahahaha, I don't know where I've been, but I'm actually still alive? I think school took it out of me. Also I've had a head cold since I was born, practically. Actually, it's been, like....three weeks? But that's a long time for a cold. I JUST WANT TO NEVER COUGH AGAIN, IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? Anyway. I have a lot to talk about. I have a list! I really like lists, guys, I don't know if you knew that.
1. Demetria Lovato + two-thirds of the Jonas Brothers + Greg Garbowsky =
I CAN'T EVEN. CAN THEY DO THIS FOREVER? And actually, I can't hear Joe too well while he's singing, but Demi. Demiiiiiii, she's so great! Her voice is strong and she's articulating well and I can totally make her out, and this is what I wrote about that: "Let's put Demi on Broadway. How can you sound that good that loud?" I might have seen this video the same day I'd seen a video of Julie Andrews singing Oscar Hammerstein songs in front of a huge crowd, NO MICROPHONE, and being all kick-ass Julie Andrews-like. THIS IS WHAT DEMI REMINDED ME OF. I just love her so much.
1a. Oh, hey, I'm in a musical theater history class, which has just made me want to spend eight billion dollars on musical soundtracks. If I buy Carousel, I have to buy Next To Normal, but I also want The Sound of Music and maybe some Sondheim, even if I've never heard it, and it's just a terrible cycle where my Amazon cart has twenty items in it and I can't afford any of it. (But I might buy Carousel and Next to Normal anyway. BUT WHICH CAROUSEL?) ANYWAY, Thursday we watched Baz Luhrmann's La Boheme and I had eternal sadfaces that it was the Australian cast and not the New York cast with Joseph Jonas in it. ALSO I have the urge to write all the Disney kids into ridiculous musicals now. My favorite is Joe as the emcee in Cabaret. Also Joe and Demi as Curly and Laurie in Oklahoma! They'll sing "People Will Say We're In Love" to each other!
2. Guys, DHen was sort of losing his status as my favorite dbag on twitter to Nicholas Braun (of 10 Things I Hate About You and Princess Protection Program fame) because of stuff like Spending some green peoples from historytimes and i'm gonna be a cop, at some point in my life. i've been studying the television show for a couple weeks now, so i think im about ready and his #latetweets, which all make me giggle and click that favorite star,
BUT THEN DHen spent the whole day in a suit (GUYS. HE LOOKS REALLY GOOD IN A SUIT, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU KNEW THIS) ANNNNNND he tweeted a picture where he's in a suit and HANGING OUT WITH BUG HALL. YEAH, ALFALFA FROM THE LITTLE RASCALS BUG HALL.
He's the guy in the beret. I HAD A REALLY BIG CRUSH ON BUG HALL AT 6, IS ALL I'M SAYING. Here is a
video of Bug Hall reenacting a scene from The Little Rascals 15 years later! HE GREW UP TO LOOK REALLY NICE. SO DID DHEN. I APPROVE OF THE BOYS IN THIS PICTURE. (Ahhhh, you guys, DHen is wearing a black suit with a black shirt and a black tie and a REALLY NICE watch, and the tie is kinda loose and he said he's gonna be wearing suits a lot more and I APPROVE OF THIS and I spent a lot of time at work imagining what his suit would look like (when I decided he wasn't going to wear a tie but instead was going to wear a white shirt with the top few buttons unbuttoned, I HAD TO LEAN AGAINST SOMETHING because of the swooning))
3. Also DHen and Selena are being all adorable and I really want to believe they're dating but they're not going to be obvious about it. Like, this would just make me a happy person. I maybe started a David/Selena story? I am a little bit of a crazy person right now.
3a. Part of the reason I want to believe they're dating is because of the pictures from the Emmys after party, which I don't feel like looking for right now, BUT I watched part of the Creative Arts Emmys on E! (I'm gonna watch the rest of it because I'm going into TV and sort of feel like I have to) and the part that I watched was the Wizards cast winning and, damn, did David Deluise break his collarbone. He just freakin' booked it onstage when they won, and he tripped and fell on the stairs - but it's a spectacular fall, he flips over, and I swear it took me a second to realize he hadn't meant to do that. Like, he got up pretty quickly, and he waved everyone else onstage (Selena was jumping up and down in the background, it was totally cute) but he was also holding himself funny and yep, he broke his collarbone. On TV. At the Emmys.
OH MY GOD I have so much more I want to say, but I also think I should go to bed soon, so here's a short list of things I'm not going to expand on:
* I've been rereading all the things I read right when I got into
easy_academy , including the story where RLiv stars in Walter the Farting Dog and the one where they all work on The Office and
I'm Your Number One and the baseball outtake, oh my godddddd, I LOVE THEM ALL. And so I want to re-watch BoB and last night I fell asleep to Curahee, it was awesome.
* I greatly enjoyed Thursday's TV. Also, since I spend a lot of time critiqueing TV shows, I give a few a free pass every season where I don't care what they do, and this year it's Glee. I just really love that show! Like, I'm pretty sure they could tell me that mass murder is a good idea, and if they sang it well enough I might actually think seriously about it.
* I've been listening to "Falling Down" by Selena Gomez (& the Scene!) on repeat for a few days. I wish it would stop growing on me, because damn if I'm gonna buy a CD by someone & the Scene. Like, I would be more embarassed to buy that than to admit that I pre-ordered the Jonas Brothers CD.
* Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince the movie was better than I remembered. At least, the beginning. During watching the movie again, I asked myself if I'd slept through it the first time, but now I can't remember anything that I really liked. I guess the ending was just that...different?
*I'm almost done rereading all the HP series. I went from 7 to 1, and then worked all the way back through. I'm on 7 again. My main thoughts are: Holy crap I have so much respect for J.K. Rowling and the universe she created; the trio keep making my heart happy with their love for each other; I really wish we knew so much more about the Marauders and James and Lily's life together. Because, um, they graduated at 17 (18?), had a baby at 20, and died at 21. How are they as awesome as everyone says? I would like another series just about them, please.
Okay, no seriously, I'm off. LATER!
