1. I'm skipping work tomorrow! Halfway through my shift today I felt like I was going to simultaneously: 1) throw up, 2) have my head explode, starting with my right eye, and 3) die. I took some Advil (omg first aid kits ftw!) and after I switched my shift out I felt a lot better.
2. My manager Jeff, who I worked with yesterday, was disappointed I was working today because he wasn't and said he'd see me Monday, and he told my lead yesterday to let me go home (she kept finding more and more stuff for me to do) and he talked to me a lot and asked what I was singing one time and I got the feeling he enjoyed my company. Today that cute boy Robert was working, and he smiled at me and talked to me a little (he was usher, I was concession, so our paths didn't really cross), and a new girl started work when I did and she was so nervous and I wish I could have helped her more but we were on opposite ends of the counter. This kid Darius is pretty awesome; he makes fun of me a lot and I threaten to hit him more often than not, but it's that fun not-really-flirty relationship that's great. But Darius got someone fired, or something, because she actually did hit him? I don't know I'm out of the loop. Oh, other guy I talk to a lot - this kid named Travis, twice when we worked we were right next to each other, so I usually greet him when I see him, and we took the same bus home, and when I got off at Balbo I caught his eye and he winked and I smiled.
3. I think this is period sick. It's a little bit in waves, but it's basically just liked someone punched me in my uterus, yet again. This is disturbing, and not fun, but maybe that means it'll go away before long.
4. My mom has decided that they are going to stay at home. It's apparently only a Cat 3, now, so they're gonna hole up in our house with our cats for a day or two, and eat a bunch of cupcakes and banana bread and not be too worried about the power going out (which, honestly, I've always liked, especially with boarded-up windows, 'cause it's this weird limbo-like world where there may be some sun and it's almost the same but really everything's different). Gustav is supposed to make landfall sometime between 6 tomorrow morning and 1 in the afternoon, and it's heading way west of my familia, so they should be fine. I'm not too worried, and only a little jealous, because I love storms that don't sweep away your entire house. I think they're fun.
5. "Love and Monsters" is my new favorite Doctor Who episode, but the Doctor and Rose are barely in it. I think I just like the way it's set up, and the fact that it's a departure from a normal episode and yet it's still about the Doctor, and the idea that the Doctor and Rose are going on so many more adventures than what we see them go on, and they spend their time vanquishing ridiculous alien monsters all over the map and all over time and we just get to see a select few. Plus I love funny things and this episode has not only "You said the blue one." "No, I said anything but the blue one!" but also Jackie waving her knickers around (and then just being Jackie) and Elton dancing in his underwear in his room in that kind of reckless abandon way of dancing that I'm so fond of. Only a few more eps, and then I'm on to Season 3!
