Back To School (Not-so)Special Update

Ok, in case whoever reads this doesn't know and is interested, I'm currently studying Modern Languages. Two of them as the "official" languages I'll be allegedly flawless at when I end my studies (English and French), and the other one is the one I should already be flaweless at, considering geography, context and career choice (Spanish).

Today, the longest vacation/break from studies I remember ever having is exactly 2 weeks from its inevitable demise. Seriously, I got out in June 16th and I start properly this month's 29th. That sounded very, very cool when I realized I had 3 months and a two weeks of vacation. It turned out quite a dissapointment when my mom's car had some very important (and expensive) problems, and I decided, along with my family, that it was better to focus all the money into my dental situation in all that free time, so it wouldn't interfere with The Career. As it stands, my vacation is going to end with me having my wisdom teeth finally extracted and exposed, after 2 months of non-decisions. Next friday's going to be amazing, sitting in bed and sleeping that way. At least I have some Harry Potter reading to finish, and I'm sure DirecTV will find something interesting to air. My reaction to internet withdrawall should be hilarious, too.

Anyway, tomorrow I have to wake up really early to go to the University and sign up for second year. It'll probably entail some long walking back-and-forth and through-and-through, but I need to slim down anyway. Also, movies and birthday party afterwards. That should be enough balancing for one day.

I am also looking forward to everyone asking me why I'm leaving classes before they finish every day in the first week and the monday after that. I mean, I'll have to find a better excuse or explanation than saying "I'm leaving right now and running home (which is suitably and unfortunately close to the University to make the scenario plausible) 'Wolverine and the X-Men' is on air on Jetix from Monday to Friday at 1:30, and it finishes season 1 in Monday, and I gotta run, or I'll miss it!". Explaining to the Family why I keep arriving so early and sweating should be fun as well. And, I hadn't considered the fact that my schedules might actually change this year, meaning that somedays I wouldn't have time to go home and back (I might consider it, but would anyone else?).

But, dude, is the X-Men! In a show where the writers of New X-Men indulge in using their characters (and lots of other famous characters) in cameos all the time, and not just the core cast! And I can actually stand looking at Emma Frost for 5 seconds without flinching for the first time since Morrison's New X-Men ended! It's a geek's dream, but I think I'll have to drag myself down to reality, and watch the episode(s) I miss 6 days later on the same network at a more reasonable hour (6 pm). That's what I think of as a geek's nightmare, but somebody would have to agree or correct me on that. (Anyone?)

Also, I decided one week before the start of classes would be the best moment to start studying everything I was taught in French 1 (English is easy enough in the first year) before having to attend French History and everything else in French 2, which will be more uphill. Nevermind the fact that I was already feeling bad about not understanding enough French in July. English 2 is a nightmare for everybody who was there this last year, but apparently English 2 and 4 are just all-round horrible. Oh, the joy.

Wolverine and the X is about to start, and I've been wanting to do a post about it, but I guess I'll wait until the season's over for a full "review". I hope it's good enough.

Until then, I'll try to write whenver I can. No promise about it being interesting, but I'll try ;P
