Chapter: 2/? (I honestly don’t know I’m just writing to write)
Summary: Inspired by the “Let It Snow” teaser, Hyunseung and Kikwang are busy airline pilots caught in the loneliness of being unable to make long lasting connections.
Author’s Note: Sorry for the delay, Hyunseung is a bitch to write plus no motivation, mysteriously appearing snow and temperature lower than my age with adding the restart of classes yeeeeeah. That is all. Enjoy. Cameo appearances dedicated to
countrymir The snow makes a crunching noise under his shiny leather shoes. His pant legs are wet so the green looks darker. He frowns as he runs fingers through his damp hair, glad that he’d gotten a hair cut or he’d have curls sticking to his cheeks. As it is Hyunseung is already finding the small amount of fringe stuck to his forehead annoying. He brushes it back as he pushes open the door to the bar.
Inhaling the stale air of cigarettes and booze as he makes his way around people in uniform. The flight he had scheduled that night was delayed due to poor weather at the destination airport. This left him with a free New Year’s Eve and all he could think about was Kikwang’s invitation to spend it with him. He’d denied him those couple of weeks ago so he bet he would find Kikwang in the bar. It was near the airport and where most of the Beast Airlines staff went on holidays.
It was one of the many bathrooms where he and Kikwang had gotten to know one another. He remembers Kikwang’s eyes glazed over by the bit of liquor in him, tripping over his own two feet on the way to the bathroom. Supported only by Hyunseung’s arm hooked to his. Whispering things Hyunseung couldn’t hear over the music as their bodies crashed against a stall door.
He makes a face and adjusts his belt a little to keep something a little lower from reacting at the memory. Moving over to the bar, pass people chatting, he greets colleagues with a nod of his head but doesn’t stop to talk. Placing his elbows comfortably on the bar as he finds an empty stool. Ready to shout for the bartender’s attention but it’s unnecessary as the man turns his gaze towards him.
“Hyunseung!” He’s forced into a hug by the moustache having man leaning over the bar.
“Byunghee-hyung you shouldn’t really drink on the job.” Hyunseung tries not to grimace at the supposed to be pat on his back that feels more like Byunghee was trying to break his spine.
“The usual?”
“The usual.” Hyunseung looked around as Byunghee fetched him a beer but he couldn’t catch a familiar pair of smiling eyes. He frowned as he turned back around just as a frosty mug was being placed down on a coaster in front of him.
“If you’re looking for Kwang he’s already way past smashed. Saw him passed out in one of the booths earlier.” Hyunseung pouted, that must mean he had headed home already or one of his friends had seen him off. “Kicked his leg and he mumbled something about needing a piss. Probably waiting for you.” Hyunseung tried to hide his excitement as he downed his beer in one go. Slamming the glass down and waving farewell to his friend before heading off to the bathroom.
“This won’t end well.” Byunghee shook his head but forgot all about it as a rather busty woman made her way towards the bar. Bumping his hip against a younger bartender to lean over the bar and put out some of his magic.
Things were looking up now. Maybe he wouldn’t be spending New Year’s Eve with Kikwang the way he would have wanted but he wasn’t going to turn down one of their bathroom adventures. It would be a lie if he said he hadn’t been thinking about those plush lips against his, those strong hips colliding against his own since the last time he’d seen Kikwang. Every time he closed his eyes he saw the other male’s face. Each time he licked his lips he tasted Kikwang there. He did both plenty of times just for the thrill it gave him. Now he could finally have the real thing.
He could already hear him moaning. His imagination was good but he didn’t think it was that good. As he neared the bathroom door the sound only became clearer. Brows knitting Hyunseung pushed open the door just a bit able to see a familiar shape before the bathroom sink. Doojoon moving back and forth, snapping his hips as if…
And there was Kikwang in front of him, bent over with his pants down around his ankles. Staring at his reflection in the mirror as Doojoon pounded into him. Eyes half lidded, plump lips parted and small whines falling from his lips just the way it all appeared when he was with Hyunseung. The bathroom was there place and yet here was Kikwang with Doojoon. Doojoon whom he could have sworn was dating a flight attendant.
Hyunseung wanted to run in there and pull them away. Shout at Kikwang, punch Doojoon and ask them both why they would betray him in such a way. He didn’t do any of that. Hyunseung walked away from the pair. He’d never told Kikwang he liked him even when his clothes were on. Or that his smile made hard days easier for him. He’d never told Kikwang anything but we’re short on time hurry up and get on my dick.
Hyunseung could only blame himself for the fact that Kikwang went to someone else for those things. Doojoon was affectionate, he’d seen it plenty of times and Kikwang was starved for affection. It only made sense. What didn’t make sense was how pissed off he was about the whole thing. He’d never been so angry in his life before. Doojoon was one of his few friends he could tolerate for more than ten minutes and Kikwang was… well he’d never really defined what Kikwang was.
As he walked through the harsh winds and snow he tried to. Fuck buddies? They weren’t even really friends. He only knew his name, his occupation and his age from having overheard someone scold Kikwang for not calling him hyung. There was nothing to be angry about because they were nothing. Nothing but two people who liked to get it on in the bathroom.
Yet the rage wouldn’t stop. All the way back home he couldn’t control his anger. Even spending New Year’s Eve sitting alone on the couch glaring at the celebrations on television he was still angry. The next day at work after too many drinks at home he was still angry. So it came as no real surprise to him when Doojoon clapped him on the back the next day at work he turned and punched him in the face.
Satisfied with the feel of Doojoon’s skin under his knuckles. One punch wasn’t enough to quell the anger. Employees shouted around them as Doojoon scattered back, not trying to fight back but raising his arms to protect his face. A bad idea as it left his stomach open to Hyunseung’s assault.
“Hey!” The next fist Hyunseung let fly was captured by a stronger hand. Gripping so tight that it made his fingers ache, it could have something to do as well with his knuckles having opened against Doojoon’s cheek on the last punch. “What the fuck is wrong with you two idiots?”
The supervisor’s voice was enough to sober up Hyunseung a little. Doojoon hiding behind the older man and cradling his abused face turned narrowed eyes towards Hyunseung.
“My office, now.” Hyunseung opened his mouth to argue but one glare had him pressing his lips together. The glare followed him all the way to Seungho’s office. By the time they entered any anger he’d felt had turned right to fear. He sunk down into the chair across the man’s desk as Doojoon did the same behind him. Rolling his eyes as Doojoon pressed tissues to his bleeding lip.
“Explain.” Hyunseung opened his mouth to do just that but Seungho raised his hand to stop. “Actually I don’t really care. You know the company policy on violent acts. If you have anything in your locker I…”
“Oh almost forgot Mr. Yang you happened to leave something in my car.” Ever so slowly Doojoon pulled out a pair of briefs from his pocket. Holding them up by the elastic band and turning them this way and that. “Cute how your wife sews your name into them.”
Seungho’s eyes went wide as he tried to launch over the desk and take them back. His name plate falling to the carpet with a dull thud. Doojoon moved back faster than the man had expected.
“So you were saying?”
“Uh… well maybe you need a paid vacation…” Doojoon shook his head no and Seungho gulped, Adam’s apple bobbing. His tongue passing over his plump lips making the bottom lip bounce a little. “Training in the Philippines?”
“What?” Hyunseung jumped up from his seat. “I don’t need to be retrained. I’m one of the best pilots! Maybe you should teach this pervert to keep his hands to himself!”
“That’s what this is about? You and Kwang aren’t even dating, just fucking.”
“Aren’t you dating Junhyung anyway?” Hyunseung turned to look at Doojoon, Seungho becoming part of the background to them both. The man had moved around the desk by now trying to grab hold of the underwear in Doojoon’s hand. He wished Doojoon would stop waving his arm around as he argued with Hyunseung.
“Junhyung was fucking Hungho over there last night.”
“How does that even make sense? You two just go around fucking anyone?”
“Well isn’t that what you and Kikwang were doing? At least I have the decency to take Junhyung out for dinner sometimes.”
“Is that what he said?” Dejectedly Hyunseung dropped to his seat. He and Kikwang really didn’t have anything. He’d spent the entire night in pointless rage for someone who thought nothing of him but a lay. Even Doojoon would do. Looking over at his friend playfully keeping the underwear away from Seungho he slid further into the chair. How pathetic he was to think for even a second that they were any thing more than quick fucks. He ran his fingers through his hair.
“The Philippines, training, go on.” Seungho paused in the middle of trying to pounce on Doojoon, as the younger man had climbed up onto the supervisor’s desk, to face Hyunseung. Adjusting his uniform and clearing his throat.
“Sang Hyun was supposed to oversee a training course in the Philippines for some potential transfers to the airlines Korean branch but something came up. They need someone who understands the way this branch works. So you can go spend a month in the Philippines, it’s sort of like a paid somewhat vacation.” Seungho side eyed Doojoon even as he spoke.
“Fine, I’ll do it. When do I leave?”
“Tonight. Sang Hyun cancelled pretty last minute.”
“Clearly.”
“Well, you know how Cheolyong is.”
“Ah, the boyfriend.” Seungho only gave a nod and Hyunseung got to his feet. It did nothing to help how depressed he felt to know someone else was at home cuddling with an elusive boyfriend while he was about to go meet some rock heads. Just great. At least he hadn’t lost his job.
Just like that Seungho dismisses him. With the sounds of a war behind him Hyunseung lowers his head and walks out of the office. Muttering to himself the things Doojoon had said. It was true he and Kikwang weren’t dating. There was no reason to be so worked up over someone who was nothing but a lay. Someone who saw him as the same thing. There was nothing between him and Kikwang so it was just fine for Doojoon to fool around with him.
Even while mentally telling himself that he grit his teeth, clenched his hand and had to breathe out his anger. Kikwang was nothing to him. Nothing. He wouldn’t be done in by one of those megawatt smiles and crescent moon eyes looking his way. The way they were at that very moment as Kikwang slowly began to close the distance between them. Hyunseung’s glare stopped him for a moment before he continued his approach.
“Hyun…” A bump to the shoulder left Kikwang staggering back as Hyunseung moved past him. “Hyunseungie?” Hyunseung didn’t stop or turn knowing the verbal diarrhea that would come out of him if he did. It pissed him off, Kikwang looking at him so innocently as if he had done nothing wrong. His expression of rapture from the previous night with Doojoon played in his mind.
Kikwang meant nothing and he knew just the way to prove it. A vacation was just what he needed. A nice month in the Philippines to clear his head and forget all about Kikwang. Forget about the person on his mind the entire flight into a new country. Forget about the cute smiles and moans echoing off tiles. Kikwang was nothing. Anyone could take Kikwang’s place. Anyone at all.
“Mr. Jang, did you hear me?” Hyunseung blinked rapidly and looked at the short woman beside him. He had no idea when they had landed or when they had reached what appeared to be the employee lounge. “Should I repeat it for you sir?” He gave a small nod and a bow in apology.
“You’ll be responsible for a group of three trainees. The training classes are during the morning hours. After that it’s up to you if you want to take longer sessions. We’ve set up hotel accommodations already as well. I’m sorry but you’ll have to share a room with one of the trainees.”
“I don’t mind.” Hyunseung gave a shrug of his shoulders and looked to the pilot hopefuls gathered in the room. Eyes lingering for a moment on a tall blond that blushed when their eyes locked.
“Since you just flew in, we can take today to rest. Maybe you’d like a tour of the airport?”
“That would be nice.”
“I’m a little busy but I can find the…”
“Why don’t one of the trainees take me? They’ve done their rounds around the airport already haven’t they?”
“Yes, I guess one of them can.” Hyunseung pretended not to notice the disappointment in the woman’s tone. She gestured towards one of the trainees but Hyunseung blocked her hand.
“It’s all right. I can handle it from here.” Without giving her a chance to argue he took the files he would need from her arms and approached the group of three. Standing before the blond. The two females of the group were busy chattering to one another without care for their trainer. Hyunseung put his hand out to the model like male.
“It’s not too fair is it, she’s told you my name already but I don’t know yours at all.” Hyunseung’s tongue passed over his lips as a large hand enveloped his own. The fingers had a bit of roughness to them but the back of the male’s hand was soft.
“S… Son Dongwoon.” Hyunseung smirked as he shook Dongwoon’s hand. He didn’t need Kikwang. Anyone would do at all.
