Why I don't like Gwyneth Paltrow

From a Portugese interview:

"I like living here [Great Britain] because I don't fit into the bad side of American psychology. The British are much more intelligent and civilized than the Americans....I love the english lifestyle; it's not as capitalistic as America. People don't talk about work & money, they talk about interesting things at dinner."

Now. I am not going to discuss the issue of intelligence (although, yes, I don't like being called much less intelligent than my friends across the pond)...in my opinion, it's hard to make a comparison because you'd have to generalize too much. So no "well you know it's true" quips in comments. I just think it's kinda rude and as one reporter discussing this said, "biting the hand that feeds her." It's the Americans that buy the majority of tickets to go see her movies!

I just think she's the hugest snob and has got a head the size of Big Ben. :p I can't say anything about her conversations at American dinner tables 'cause I wasn't there but usually my friends and I don't talk about money that often. And when we DO talk about work it's in the context of "how are you doing right now? how was your day" Because work is a part of LIFE and having a conversation that contributes to building a relationship with people is going to include things about LIFE, which includes things about WORK. But perhaps I should think of Paltrow as saying this in the context of HER life in which the concept of work has a different meaning.

I just think, if you want to live in another place 'cause you like it better, fine. But don't do it in a "I'm too smart for youuuuu, so I'm going to go where I belong...with the SMART kids" manner. And don't do it with a fake British accent, either.
