New Obsession: Kitsune!fic + Mini Rec Post
Ever since reading the most wonderful story, yesterday, I have been totally hooked on Kitsune!fic. Kitsune!fic is a subgenre in the vast SPN creature!fic genre, and I find it irresistibly charming. A Kitsune is a shapeshifter, originating from Japanese folklore, which usually walks in the guise of a fox, but can also take the shape of a human. Both in fox- and human shape the Kitsune possesses multiple bushy tails. The number of tails reveals the age, wisdom and power of the Kitsune, which can have up to nine tails. As with almost all genres (well, IMHO), the Kitsune genre works wonderfully when applied to Jensen and Jared, especially when it's well written. And of course there's the total cuteness factor.
So far, I've only been able to find two (amazing) stories, and one (amazing) piece of art, but I'll keep on looking! If anyone knows of more SPN Kitsune!fic, please let me know. I'm listing the fics I know below, starting with the first one I've read:
