Voting today in Chicago: no line at 10am at the St. Augustine College polling location in south Logan Square/north Humboldt Park--in fact, maybe 6 people voting, max, which is equal to or less than the number of poll-workers there. No older black women in tears about living to see the day. No college kids voting for the first time because now they feel excited. No one mumbling about terrorists or the Second Holocaust.
No drama at all, so I'm thinking of going downtown to be in the vicinity of the Obama rally, though I did not get tickets to the event itself.
[Edit: well, I did get a little teary-eyed when voting for Obama, but then I slogged through 20 or 30 judge retention questions, which does wonders for drying one's eyes.]
