In comparable States

Sep 13, 2004 16:30

I don't just use letters as bullet-points because it's easier for me not to worry about transitions, but because, for you, it will be easier to skip boring segments. But, to insure that boredom is kept to a minimum, I'll also be doing superfast updates

l) Got back to Chicago.

m) I slept over a friend's house after a birthday party; the hostess made a nice bed for me on the couch, which amused me, since I had no bed at my own Chicago home (through totally my fault, no one else needs to share the blame).

n) Started my monkey-job ("monkey" because a monkey could be trained to do it, not because it involves monkeys [I wish]), which is less scan-simian than data-entry-orang-utan. Technically, an ape.

n2) what amuses me about the job is that I'm organizing scanned old books, seeing which ones are already on cd, etc. Which is pretty much what I would be doing if I were engaged in any sort of pirating. So I feel like I'm pirating material from the World's Fair.

o) my UofC/UIC class has already started, if you can believe it, so I'm reading like there's no tomorrow. Because tomorrow is a day in which several hours are already mortgaged to my job. So far, it's too early to say.

p) my second class may be super-fantastico or crap. I'm almost sure I'm going to be taking "Neuronal Aesthetics" with Barbara Stafford of the Art History dept. The description is all about philosophy and neuroscience.

q) I got a bed, through the incomparable assistance of my upstairs neighbor, M. G. We went to Ikea twice in a week. It's so hard to stop decorating once you've started. My kitchen is furniture-done. I may need a dining table. Or another couch. Pictures will be up before I am 26.

r) You should post to say hello, and how bored you were when reading this.
