shit.  just got caught by the RATP comptrollers without a ticket.  and the worst thing is, i talked my friend kathryn into doing it with me - we were only going three stops on the bus, and i said "come on, we're not going to pay 1,60€ each for three stops.  it's after midnight on a saturday night, it'll be fine."  and what do you know, at the next stop, five of them get on.  and we play the dumb foreigner card and i thought we were going to get away with it, but then all of the sudden they pulled out a ticket for 40€.  at least they only gave us one ticket for the both of us, normally it should've been forty each.

i can't complain, it's my own fault for taking a risk.  it just sucks since it's the first time i've gone sans ticket.  but i was out of town for the first two weeks of the month, so i didn't buy a monthly pass like i normally do, and you can only recharge the weekly ones from monday- sunday, so that left me this weekend with out one.  i bought a ticket earlier today when i went to meet with my friend anna, but again, it was 1,60€ for not even a ten minute ride.  and i was really annoyed because the tickets you buy in the bus don't allow you to take a correspondance, nor can they be used in the metro, so what's the point of them?  they should at least be cheaper if they can only be used for one single trajet.  oh well, live and learn, right?  next time, i'll just walk home.  (but it's getting cold here at night and all my warm clothes are packed up in boxes until i move!!)
