Sam kept her hand on it for a full ten seconds this time, gently pulling her fingers away. She chewed her bottom lip, watching as it... rolled off the beer bottle. "Damn it!" she said, grabbing the orange before it hit the floor.
Daniel laughed and clapped his hands before pointing at her. "All right. Are you ready to admit maybe I wasn't as drunk as it seemed?"
Sam sighed. "All right, fine. I did make a bet."
"Right," Daniel said, rubbing his hands together. "Lose the shirt."
As she complied, he grinned lasciviously and said, "I love Strip Orange-Balancing..."

Sam fell to her knees, her lungs burning and her joints aching. She'd been running for decades. She had to be on the other side of the planet now; even if the Stargate wasn't buried, they would never... she coughed, glancing back, certain the Kull Warrior was right behind her.
Weak... so weak now...
Someone took her hand, helping her to her feet. She looked into Janet's eyes and breathed, "I can't."
Janet pointed down the path and Sam closed her eyes. She released Janet's hand and pressed onward. As long as Janet stayed with her, she could move mountains.

She pulled back the curtain, revealing a pre-teen blonde girl sitting on the edge of an exam bed. She was wearing hospital scrubs, a pair of adult-sized jeans and combat boots. There was something vaguely familiar about the girl, but he couldn't quite put his finger... "Sam?" he breathed.
"Hi, Dad," Sam grinned. "I'm 13 again."
Not even Selmak could save Jacob Carter from fainting.
