“Shit!” The tool slipped, gouging a furrow in her hand.
Dropping it, she found a band-aid; with the wound covered, she tried again.
“Shit!” It slipped again as she tried opening the panel. This time a band-aid wouldn’t work. Wrapping a handkerchief around her bleeding hand, she stomped out of her lab, towards the infirmary. Muttering what seemed to be her preferred word of the day.
Running into the infirmary she looked around; spotting Janet, she held up her bleeding hand.
“Do I even want to know?” asked Janet, grasping the wounded appendage, she unwrapped the handkerchief.
The makeshift bandage stuck to the wound as she pulled it off, “Shit!”
“Oh yeah…stitches for you this time,” Janet said.
The whole time Janet stitched up the huge cut, Sam swore under her breath. When she finished, Sam said thanks and started for the door.
“Hey!” Sam turned in time to catch the bar of soap thrown at her; holding it up she gave Janet a confused look.
“If that’s all you can say today I expect you to wash out your mouth before we get home; I don’t need two of you muttering that.” the doctor remarked.
Sam blushed, “Yes m’am.”

Sam rushed into the infirmary. Running past Janet, she went straight to a bed and pulled the screen around it.
Janet stood there for a moment, a confused look on her face. Walking over she stuck her head through the curtain.
“Are you alright?” she asked, her voice a bit worried.
“I’m fine…do me a favor. You haven’t seen me,” replied Sam as she pushed Janet away from the screen.
Janet was even more confused now; until she heard the voice of Rodney McKay call out, “Major Carter?”
“I could have sworn I saw her…Dr. Fraiser, did Major Carter come in here?”
“No…haven’t seen her,” replied Janet.
“If you do, tell her I’m looking for her,” the man said and then left.
A hand snuck out of the curtain and pulled her in, “Thank you…thank you. He was getting on my last nerve,” sighed Sam as she hugged the doctor.

They lay in the hammock between the two big trees in the backyard. With Janet curled up against her side, Sam slowly rocked them back and forth as they gazed up at the cloudless sky.
“Did you ever want to be a superhero when you were a kid?” asked Sam unexpectedly.
“What brought that question on?” asked Janet moving until she lay on top of her partner and could look her in the face.
Sam shrugged, “Don’t know…I just wondered.”
Janet thought for a minute, “Wonder Woman…I had the whole lasso thing down pat. I used to practice on my brothers; although I never could make them tell the truth.”
Sam laughed, ”Now that’s something I wish I could have seen.”
“What about you?” asked Janet.
Sam grinned, “Batman.”
“But Batman doesn’t have superpowers,” Janet said confused.
“Nope… but he always had the coolest gadgets,” replied a still grinning Sam.
