Huitzilopochtli lapped at the blood that ran down the pale column of his captive’s throat. He held the copper sweet liquid on his tongue; it was exquisite.
The woman glared at him with such fire.
He motioned to his Jaffa to prepare her.
The speed with which she shook off her guards, and grabbed the dagger from his waist astounded him; he felt the blade under his jaw.
“Release the men that were captured with me and I might let you live.”
Her voice was as deadly as the blade she held.
“Lady, you are mine.”
“Not today, I’m not.”
