My son loved it, and read all the rest in the series as soon as he could.
Funny, and fast paced, and exciting. The author does a good job building a world that's obviously going to be able to sustain several more books.

{Take the 100 Things challenge!}
I actually wrote that months ago, and Lenny subsequently did read all the others in the series - he's just in the middle of the last one now. So as an experiment book, this worked out well for us - I read it to him because I had to for my 100 books list, and he really got into the series. It's great for 11 year old boys, basically.
