L.A. update

Hey all!

So, the house hunting update.

I put in an offer.  I was torn between two places, one in Burbank and one in Toluca Lake, both of which are GORGEOUS and I can get for an amazing price.  They both have a full extra bedroom, so you are all instructed to come and visit me in LA.  :)

The place I finally followed my gut and put the offer down is in Burbank.  I *like* Burbank.  I know it's not all trendy and in the heart of Hollywood and all that, but the services offered by Burbank are much nicer than those of LA County - better police, electric, water, etc.  When they have brown-outs and rolling black-outs in LA, Burbank is apparently unaffected.  Plus, Burbank is on bedrock, while Toluca Lake is in the "liquification zone" like most of the Valley, so when those earthquakes hit, my stuff will rock and roll, but won't crumble.  You can huff and puff but not blow my house down.  :)

ETA:  Just heard back from the realtor for the other place - they were hoping for a higher offer.  She called my realtor to try to feel him out for how much higher I would be willing to go.  Oh, the negotiations!  Oh the nailbiting!  I want to get the place, but I also don't want to pay any more than I have to for it.  After all, I'm not the one that won three Emmys.  (Did I mention, when we walked in to see the place, there were three Emmys on the mantlepiece?  Apparently the current owner was a producer on The West Wing.  Only in LA.)

All right, I'm posting this now.  Will have an update later if more happens tonight, but I'm guessing they are probably going to sleep on it.
Keep your fingers crossed for me, and send good housing energy!
