Black Star isn't exactly my favorite character in the series (mostly because in the manga, I really wanted Liz or Patty to rescue Kid and just facepalmed when the artist went with Black Star instead, who um...alreaddy had a huge one-on-one battle with Mifune earlier in the series), but he's great comedy relief sometimes, and I like that he's ridiculously loyal to his friends and doesn't attack witch children because he's decent like that.
2) Is he/she important to the general plot?
Yes, I think so.
3) Can you relate to this character at all? Does he/she grip you emotionally?
Um. Not really. His interactions with others typically inspire me more than anything he does by himself. Although I do admire his "move on from the past" perspective.
4) How much do you like the fandom that this character comes from?
I haven't really looked into the fandom much, so I have no idea what it's like.
5) Do you ship this character with any other character? Or, are you particularly intrigued by his/her relationship with any other character(s)? (romance-wise or platonic)
Black Star/Tsubaki is completely canon! Won't deny that. I like his friendships with everyone else on the team, especially Maka surprisingly since they clash so much.
6) Is there anything about the character you would change?
Um, I'm not sure. Maybe growing some humility, but then he wouldn't be the Black Star we know and love (and sometimes hate).
7) If you were in the fandom with this character or knew this character in real life, how would you see yourself interacting with him/her?
I wouldn't know what to make of him! We wouldn't get along since I'm passive and he's...erm. Not passive.
8) Does this character make the cut as one of your all time favorites (if you like) or least favorites?
Neither. I don't love him, but I don't dislike him enough that he's my least favorite character. He falls somewhere in between.
9) Would you hype up this character (if you like) or warn about this character (if you dislike) to someone new to fandom?
"If you like crazy, egotistical characters who sometimes show their heart of gold, you'll probably like Black Star. The English dub sucks, though."
10) Is this character popular with the fanbase?
OH MY GOD, YES, this shouldn't even be debated.
(Also, I saw the comment, and I can't believe I forgot about it! D: I'll get around to it. Maka's a little hard for me to come up with songs for, at least not off the top of my head, but I'm sure there's something hiding in my playlist.)
