30 Day Meme - Sailor Moon // 30 Day Meme - Shipping
Time to get started with these memes! And what better day to start on the Sailor Moon meme than my favorite fictional character Usagi's birthday. (I swear this was a coincidence. I just happened to look at my Tumblr and notice a birthday spam for her through a general Sailor Moon blog. Awesome!)
DAY 01 - FAVORITE CHARACTER
How can I not put Usagi as my favorite character? I mean, I love too many characters to keep count, but she's always going to be my favorite. She's a fourteen year old girl who'd rather stay at home and read comics book or talk about boys with her BFF instead of having the responsibility of some reincarnated princess and saving the world. Despite her complaints and immaturity from the beginning, she grows, and with that she has this sense of bravery that can never be ruined when it concerns her friends, her lover, her child, and the universe itself. Usagi isn't exactly a perfect soldier, but she is an ideal role-model for any young girl: always do the right thing, always fight for your friends and the world, and always be willing to open your heart to others, as she did with villains such as Nehelenia and Galaxia.
Anything else I'd say from this point wouldn't neatly sum up how I feel about her as well as I'd hope, so I'm going to quote escalove's words about Usagi from her Tumblr account unprettygirl:
[...] And she is a hero. No one could go through what she did with such joy, and aplomb and everlasting enthusiasm. She wasn’t perfect, and she may not have been the most practical. But in the end it was her hope, her faith, and her strength that insured that she would be standing in the end.
So here is to you Usagi, it makes me sad that new people to anime don’t know of your heroism.

DAY 01 - MY CURRENT FAVORITE SHIP
If it weren't for Orihime/Tatsuki, I would root for these two so hard. They hit so many of my shipping buttons; he's a bit cold and intelligent, and she's a bit ditzy and a ball of optimism, and I can't help but wonder how they'd play off each other in a relationship. I'd prefer Orihime to be with Ishida before Ichigo. (As for Ulquiorra, I like the idea of them together, but I'm not sure if I like the set-up. I have an interest in the ship, but I dislike the way they met because Orihime was then cast as the damsel for Ichigo to rescue foreeeever, and she's never able to properly kick ass.) Plus, this is my superficial side talking, but I think they'd look so cute together.
Honorable mention for this category include Coen/Riley, an original couple that sleepyscribbles and I write, and Lightning/Beast Boy from Teen Titans.
