my thoughts on this stupid video game that I'm obsessed with now.
I was been playing Final Fantasy XIII last night, to get through my missions, buff up my characters, and get ready for the next chapter. Well. One of the missions was completely insane.
1. Yeah, um. Tonberry? They seriously took everything that's horrible about a Tonberry and made it so much worst than any other Final Fantasy game that had him. Seriously! I can't beat this guy. I had no problem taking down the Juggernauts, but I'm up against this tiny fucking turtle thing with the knife and UGGGH, I can't kill him. I'm going to have to skip over the mission and return to it later. I already know I'm not even going to attempt the mission with the gigantic Cactus; it's fun to beat up the smaller ones, though.
2. Right now my party is Fang, Lightning and Hope. I've warmed up to Hope now that he's gotten Haste. I want to use Sazh, but he seriously needs some upgrades on his weapons, because his strength is the lowest in the party, but I'm going to wait until I can get items from the other missions to sell.
For awhile, I was playing with Show, Fang and Hope, because I barely use Snow. Turns out that Snow kicks much more ass and he has much more HP. Then I switched with Lightning because she does more damage with commando now that she's buffed out the commando role.
3. Speaking of Sazh, when I completed the chocobo missions? Totally cute! I love how Sazh gets to be the pilot in the group and be friends with chocobos. I don't know why, but it's just really cute how much he cares about the birds now. (And randomly, Sazh/Fang anyone? Where did those scenes come from?)
4. When I was finally able to ride the chocobos, my little sister came into the room, saw that Snow was riding one, and exclaimed, "What is Snow doing on that chocobo? Oh my god, he's going to eat it!" (For some reason, Snow's become a running gag with us: we've concluded that he's a big eater. He's eating away his sorrow over his girlfriend Serah. It totally makes sense. That and we concluded that because I told her about the lame fried chicken jokes the fandom throws at Sazh, and she went, "Uh, dude, if anyone's going to eat Sazh's pet chocobo, it's going to be Snow. Sazh better watch his bird. :|" and made me lol forever.)
