Inspiration can be a fleeting, fickle thing and the gossamer of words that capture it can be very fragile. It’s such a joy to have my imagination come alive in response to the things I see and experience, catalysts of stories tickling like so many greedy goldfish. Writing is tough. Life gets so busy so quickly. It's definately worth the effort when you can though.

I can definitely relate to that! I think sometimes it depends on what you're writing too. Some things for work just bring you down. Sometimes even if they're not something you'd want to write for yourself or something that's hard it can make you more confident. Sort of turning on the spigot if that makes sense.

'Turning on the spigot' is exactly how it can be sometimes. Even with the hardest, driest, most formal of things, once I find the 'key' (usually a workable opening sentence) then it's all on.

I've been writing blog posts all week, and it's obviously beginning to show. Strange, though, that my job now asks me to do this, when once upon a time it was that thing I did for fun and it felt a bit secretive because of all the fandom connectons. Now it's all so mainstream!
