Well, I am now living at home again. So far that's alright aside from not having much space. My dad just finished putting a roof on our garage so maybe he'll help me with work on our basement now - I'm going to insulate it, etc., so we can move some of our furniture down there. Currently we have enough to furnish two apartments besides the house and it's all upstairs.
This term I'm taking two new courses - Children's Literature and Literature of the Romantic Period, besides finishing off 4 that I've already started. I have to get organized and figure out what I need to be working on in order to meet various deadlines. Right now I'm supposed to be reading some of Grimm's Fairytales and Shakespeare's King John. King John is apparently a somewhat obscure play in that it's not often studied. I was supposed to have attended class with the same prof I originally took the course with last year, but I think I actually prefer the teaching style of the new prof so changing it up has been a good thing. Our prof is actually from the UK somewhere...her accent is quite nice and her jargon is interesting. On the first day of class we were told that our midterm would involve some gobbits. She told us she was going to explain what those were as we all looked confused but didn't get around to it. I'm assuming it just means that the questions will consist of several parts.
I got a haircut today, after having needed one for too long. :Þ I went to a girl named Nicole that a few of my friends (with considerably nicer hair than I have) go to on a regular basis. It turns out that she used to work at a nightclub in Waterloo (Rev) about 5 yrs ago and is familiar with the place where I work. She had really cool hair but I couldn't pull it off - it seems to be naturally wavy and some parts were dyed a deep red colour with others being a warm blonde. She had bangs that were straightened and a small amount of her hair in the back was twisted up and held in place with a hair claw thinger. I didn't understand how that did much good but I suppose it was probably more for decoration than convenience. Actually, she looked a lot like a fraggle. But a really fashionable one, not like that crazy red fraggle with the pigtails...Nicole said that when she was younger she wasn't at all interested in clothes or make-up (we were discussing my lack of flattering attire). I was kind of glad I was able to identify with her in some way because a lot of the other people there seemed to be kind of hoochie, which is somewhat off-putting to me when I'm on their turf wearing cargos and docs. :S
I really would like to update my wardrobe, we'll see how far I get with that...
